The Manfreds
Following the huge success of their 60th anniversary tour in 2023, The Manfreds are excited to be heading to The Riverhead Theatre, Louth, on Thursday 19th September.
They are considered one of the finest and most respected bands from the 1960’s era. Their numerous hits were not just ‘pop’ songs, many were R&B based with an undercurrent of jazz - a very unusual but winning combination of playing style and substance.
As a result, their records have a timeless quality and, some 60 years on, The Manfreds, with original front man Paul Jones, will be performing many of their hits, including ‘Do Wah Diddy Diddy’, one of the most popular and instantly recognisable songs of the ‘60’s, and still the biggest audience pleaser at their concerts, along with a mix of Jazz and Blues covers and tracks from their individual solo albums.

Kathleen Ferrier - Whatalife!
Whattalife! is a one woman play with music. Kathleen Ferrier was one of Britain’s phenomenal women of the 20th Century. Whattalife! tells her story from her debut as a singer in 1940, her meteoric rise and her tragic death in 1953.
Professional actress and contralto, Lucy Stevens has researched and created a unique and totally engaging performance, the text is taken straight from Kathleen’s letters and diaries. Sung music from her repertoire is woven through the text.
Whattalife! is the first staged dramatisation of Ferrier’s life, evoking the spirit of the war and post war years. Just like Kathleen during her short but full life, the show has a great sense of fun and talks straight from the heart.

Box Clever present "A Christmas Carol"
Our adaptation brings Dickens’ atmospheric Ghost Story of Christmas to life through the company’s characteristic cocktail of textual accuracy, fun, lively action, music and audience participation in order to educate, involve and inspire. As our actors bring to life Scrooge: squeezing, wrenching, grasping, hard and sharp as flint, the audience will join him on the journey that he is forced to make through his past, present and future until laughter and goodness replace the ice in his heart.

Created in collaboration with students from the East Midlands, South West and South East, the company’s latest adaptation explores in thrilling theatre the chilling vision provided by Robert Louis Stevenson’s novella in all its horror.
