'Ooh Betty!'
An iconic line made famous in the popular sitcom “Some Mothers Do ‘ave ‘em”.
Louth Playgoers bring you the play by Guy Unsworth based on Raymond Allen’s TV series and set in 1974.
The talented Laura Martin, responsible for last year’s “Open All Hours”, directs this production.
Open auditions for the following roles take place on Monday 14th October at 7.30pm at the Riverhead Theatre.
Characters
Frank Spencer – age 30 – 50
Betty Spencer – Frank’s wife (age 25 – 40)
Father O’Hara – An Irish Catholic Priest (age 55 – 75)
Barbara Fisher – Betty’s Mother (age 50 – 65)
David Worthington – A Scottish Bank Manager (age 50 – 65)
Terry Luscombe – BBC Entertainment Chief (age 50 – 65)
Leslie Robin – A camera operator (age 25 – 45)
Constable – A London Policeman (age 25 – 45)
If you would like to audition for any of the roles, please familiarise yourself with the following. Don’t worry, you won’t have to have it memorised at this stage! Additional copies will be available on the evening of the audition.

There is a form to fill in upon arrival, so please arrive in good time to fill in your details which will include information like – your contact details, your availability for the rehearsals, the show dates and your preferred role etc.
Show Dates: March 10th-15th, 2025
Rehearsals will be two nights per week, largely Tuesdays and Thursdays. There will be no weekend rehearsals unless necessary, except for run up week where technical rehearsals may need to be arranged on a Saturday or Sunday.
If you are cast, there will be a show fee of £10 to pay and you must be a Gold Member of Louth Playgoers.
