Louth Playgoers are so excited to be bringing Roald Dahl’s classic tale of chocolate and wonderment to the Louth Riverhead Theatre stage in May 2025. It truly is a magical show with a beautiful message at its heart. The creative team can’t wait to get going!
Please see below for the details of the principal children’s characters available. We will double casting each role, therefore each performer will take part in 6 performances each.
**See the attached file from Musical Director Simon Percy that gives further details in regards to the audition music**

A few things to note:-
- Please arrive in good time on the audition day as there will be some paperwork to complete.
- Parents/Guardians will not be allowed into the audition room. We would ask that you remain at the theatre until your child has finished their audition. The cafe will be open for you to purchase refreshments.
- Whilst it is absolutely preferable that the audtionees attend the audition and perform live on the day in person, the creative team understand that some may have prior holiday or other activity commitments. Under these circumstances we will therefore accept video auditions to be sent. These must be received no later than Sunday 24th November 2024 at 5.00pm. Any video auditions received after this time will not be considered for casting. The videos can be sent to director Jamie Harris on the email listed at the bottom of this page. Please include your childs name, age and your name and mobile number in the email.
- All auditionees will be contacted by phone by either Jamie Harris or Gary Starkie no more than 48 hours after the audition.
- To those who are unsuccessful there may be the opportunity to audition in January as part of the adult chorus (Oompa Loompas) but this is still under discussion amongst the creative team. More details in due course.
