Characters

Dick Whittington
Any Gender - Playing Age 16-30

Our hero and principal role. Dick yearns for adventure and to fulfil his destiny… he’s just not sure what that is yet. Warm, friendly and a hit with the audience.

Audition: Dick Audition
Singing Audition: Walking on Sunshine

Alice
Female - Playing Age 16-30

The Sultan’s daughter, Alice is as pretty as she is quick-witted - and a true match for Dick. Wants to explore away from her father’s Kingdom for adventure and excitement. Pantomime Princess and love interest for Dick - but she will keep him on his toes.

Audition: Alice Audition
Singing Audition: Fool Again (Please note, the key has been changed to better suit a female range)

Tammy the Cat
Any Gender - Playing Age Any

Tammy is Dick’s feline faithful sidekick - only says ‘meow’ but doesn’t have any trouble getting her point across. A good mover and expressive performer would be ideal.

Audition: Sultan Scene, Dick & Dom Scene
No solo singing audition required

Dame Helga Hootenanny
Male - Playing Age 25+

The Pantomime Dame. Helga is always on the lookout for a new man, and will probably be on the lookout for a new job soon as she’s not exactly getting top grades as Teacher at the Moroccan Palace. A performer who is comfortable working with the audience - and looking fairly ridiculous while doing it!

Audition: Dame Audition
Singing Audition: Girlfriend

Dom Whittington
Male - Playing Age 16-30

Dick’s brother - a ‘Simple Simon’ / ‘Buttons’ comedy role, who thinks he’s just along for the ride on Dick’s adventure but is more pivotal than he knows.

Audition: Dom Audition
Singing Audition: Reach

King / Queen Rat
Any Gender - Playing Age 20+

The sneeriest, slimiest, craftiest Pantomime Villain you ever did see. A conniving character, King Rat will tread on anyone to make sure he ends up with all the riches on offer in our Pantomime.

Audition: King Rat Audition
Singing Audition: Another One Bites the Dust

Snicker
Any Gender - Playing Age 16+

Henchman and lacky for King Rat, but hapless enough to form a hilarious comedy duo with partner-in-crime Guffaw. A slapstick performance with comedic timing essential.

Audition: Snicker & Guffaw Audition
Singing Audition: Reach

Guffaw
