Arie Dakesian

Born in Beirut, Lebanon to an Armenian family, Arie picked up his first guitar at the age of six and hasn’t left it since!

Studying in both Lebanon and Armenia, Arie has been exposed to a wide variety of music, which is now woven into the very fabric of his guitar playing.  In 2020, with the Lebanese economy in crisis, he was awarded a scholarship to the Royal College of Music, managing to make make his way to London despite the pandemic.  He will graduate this year, and his recent performances at the Royal Albert Hall, Kings Place, and the Wigmore Hall point to an extraordinary career ahead.

At this afternoon's performance you will hear works by Francisco Tarrega, Guilio Regondi, Emilio Pujol, Joaquin Rodrigo, Benjamin Britten, and more.
