The featured artist for May is NEIL ROBERTS
Louth-based Neil says “I make art to be seen, to be looked at, talked about and enjoyed. I want to nurture ideas and dreams.
I am inspired by the truth and beauty of the modern world - and how we exist within that space.
In an image-saturated age of uploaded JPEGs, temporary Snapchats and momentary Instagram posts, my aim is to bear witness and to preserve today’s moments for future generations.
I am hoping that, in many years to come, people will look back at these paintings and see how we lived, laughed and enjoyed ourselves.
I utilise a traditional technique as employed by the likes of Rembrandt , Vermeer and Titian, meaning these paintings should last for hundreds of years.
I enjoy the contrast between the modern and the traditional, after all - it’s who we are today.”
