Here at Louth Riverhead Theatre we are trying out something new. This Summer we are hosting 2 singalong film nights. Come along and join us and sing as loud as you like in our air-conditioned Auditorium. You never know it might inspire you to come and perform on our stage in the future!
Doors open 1 hour before the performance begins, The bar will be open so you can lubricate those vocal chords, we will be selling our usual selection of sweets, chocolate and ice creams, and there will be an interval where you can refresh and re-hydrate yourselves after all the singing, ready for the second half.
The first showing we have is on Wednesday 31st July at 7.30pm where Hugh Jackman leads an all-star cast in The Greatest Showman. This bold and original musical filled with infectious show-stopping performances that will bring you to your feet time and time again.
Inspired by the story of P.T. Barnum (Jackman), the film follows the visionary Showman who rose from nothing to create the mesmerizing spectacle of the "Greatest Show on Earth," which captivated audiences around the globe.
This inspirational film also stars Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson and Zendaya.
Follow the red top hat to sing along to your favourites including This is Me, Rewrite The Stars, A Million Dreams, and of course, The Greatest Show
The second showing we have is on Saturday 24th August at 7.30pm where we whisk you off to a Greek island for Mamma Mia!
Feelgood blockbuster adaptation of the smash-hit stage musical, with Meryl Streep finding love the second time around on the Greek isles. After reading her mother Donna (Streep)'s diary, soon-to-be-wed Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) invites three of her mother's old flames, Bill (Stellan Skarsgard), Sam (Pierce Brosnan), and Harry (Colin Firth) to the wedding, in the hope of finding out who her real father is. Arriving on the sun-drenched Mediterranean island for the first time in 20 years, the now middle-aged hunks soon rekindle long dormant emotions, causing Donna to revisit her past glories, and, with the help of her two oldest friends, Rosie (Julie Walters) and Tanya (Christine Baranski), belt out all those Abba hits including Dancing Queen, Does your Mother Know? and the title track Mamma Mia, As this is a Singalong version with the words on-screen there’s no excuse for the audience not to belt them out too!
All tickets for both showings are £6 each and you can book them online at www.louthriverheadtheatre.com
